Milan is a city with flair and affluence. Capital of the fashion universe, it offers streets of chic boutiques that will make your credit card melt. Getting to your hotel:

By bus:

From Malpensa Airport (50 km from the centre): there is a regular shuttle bus to Milan central station taking 45 mins (costs c. 7 Euros). It departs every 20 to 30 mins.
From Linate Airport (7 km from the centre): there is no train service into Milan but a good bus service, leaving every 20 mins to Milan' s central station (approx. 30 mins, costs approx. 3 Euros). Then a short taxi ride, walk or underground as above.
From Bergamo's Orio al Serio airport: there is a regular coach service to Milan central station (approx 1 hr journey). Or you can take the bus from the airport to Bergamo train station and from there trains leave once an hour for Milan central station, taking approx 45 mins.

By rail:

From Malpensa Airport (50 km from the centre): the "Malpensa Express" train departs every 20 mins and takes approx. 50 mins to Cadorna station, with one stop en route at Fiera di Milano (costs approx. 8 Euros). Most of our hotels can then be reached by short taxi ride apart from the Albert and Amadeus which are within a couple of mins walk from the station.

From Bergamo's airport in Orio (45 km from Milan): trains depart hourly from Orio al Serio airport for Milan's central station (approx. 50 mins).

By taxi:

From Malpensa Airport (50 km from the centre): taxi direct costs approx. 70 Euros and takes 50 mins, depending on traffic.
From Linate airport: a taxi direct to the centre takes approx 20 mins and costs 25 Euros.
From Bergamo's Orio al Serio airport: a taxi direct to the centre of Milan takes 1 hr and costs approx 100 Euros.

Getting around:

The historic centre is easily explored on foot, but there is also a good bus service and underground network. The lakes of Maggiore, Como and Garda are easily reached by train in approx. 1 hour.

Other important information:

In line with Italian Law, most hotels will still offer the option of smoking rooms but smoking will be banned in all public areas of the hotel including the reception, restaurants, breakfast rooms etc. However, some premises will have a separate area for smokers where ventilation is installed.

Shopping:

Shops are usually open from 9.00am to 1.00pm on Monday and 9.00am to 7.30pm Tuesday to Saturday (often with a siesta break from 1pm to 3pm).
