Getting to your hotel:

By bus:

From Arlanda airport: Buses operate to the city centre terminal every 10 to 15 mins. Tickets can be bought at the desk marked "Car Park and Bus Tickets" before leaving the arrival lounge. The Flygbussarna coach departs every 10 minutes, costs 70 SEK and takes c. 40 mins to reach the centre. You can walk to the Prize from the central station, other hotels can be reached by short taxi ride.

From Skavsta Airport: Airport coach to central Stockholm which takes approx. 1 hour and 20mins. A single ticket costs 130 SEK, a return costs 199 SEK.

By rail:

From Stockholm's main airport Arlanda there is a high speed train service in operation between 5 am and 12:30 am. Trains run every 15 minutes, and cost for the 20 minute journey is c.140 SEK.

By taxi:

From Arlanda airport: Taxis are available outside the terminals. Check beforehand that they will only charge the officially approved fixed fare of SEK 350 or less to the city centre (it is a bit more from the centre back to the airport).

Getting around:

The Stockholm Card is worth considering. It provides unlimited travel on public transport, free admission to 70 sights and a sightseeing tour by bus and boat in the summer with an illustrated guidebook and a map. It costs from SEK 185 a day and is available locally.

Shopping:

Shops are generally open from 9am to 6pm from Monday to Friday and from 9am to 4pm on Saturday.
