Tenerife is famous for its popular and stylish resort towns. The cosmopolitan town of Puerto de la Cruz, at the north of the island, offers fantastic sun, swimming, shopping and nightlife. Choose from the carefully selected Tenerife hotels below.

General information:

The island of Tenerife offers a varied landscape; the north is a tropical paradise with palm trees and banana plantations and the climate is cooler than in the south, which is hot and dry with an almost desert landscape. Dominating the whole island is Mount Teide, a giant volcano which is also Spain's highest peak.

Getting to your hotel:

By taxi:

Reina Sofia airport is located in the south of the island. We recommend that you take a taxi to your resort and transfer time will vary between approximately 30 mins to Playa de las Americas and an hour to Puerto de la Cruz. Taxis can be found outside the arrivals hall.

Other transport:

If you are planning to visit the whole island, hiring a car may be a practical solution.

Getting around:

Tenerife is famous for its popular and stylish resort towns. The cosmopolitan town of Puerto de la Cruz, at the north of the island, offers fantastic sun, swimming, shopping and nightlife. A new man-made beach of black sand has been established at the fringe of the resort, and there is also the famous Lido Martianez, a large artificial lake with 7 saltwater pools surrounded by attractive gardens.
Las Caletillas is a typical Tenerife town to the north-east of the island, a short bus ride to the island's capital, Santa Cruz. It is quieter than the bustling resort areas.

Los Cristianos, in the south, is a lively, popular resort with a rocky coastline, popular with families. Although it has plenty of bars and a good nightlife, the atmosphere is significantly quieter than in other resorts.

Only 3km away is Playa de las Americas, a lively resort offering top hotels, international restaurants and a famous nightlife, in particular during the summer months.

Shopping:

Hours vary but most of the shops are open from 9.30am to 8pm with a break for lunch and siesta between 1.30 and 5pm.
