Its amazing weather, warm deep-blue waters and sandy beaches provide the perfect spot to all the holiday makers wanting to enjoy some surf and sand. Larnaca being among the oldest cities in the world also has plenty of sites with archaeological interest. It also has a marina that can dock over four hundred yachts and hence attracts quite a few tourists with yachts.

Shopping
Shopping is a must for handmade lace, curtains, tablecloths, baskets, silks, silver and leather wares. Lefkara lace is mainly linked with Cypriot workmanship and is a good buy. Local wines and brandy as well as imported goods like cameras, perfume, chinaware, crystals and English fabrics are available in abundance. Ready made shirts are found at very low prices. Shops are mainly found in the resort areas at Mackenzie Beach and in the Larnaca-to-dhekelia road area. There are wide varieties of shops in the town center. A local market is held at Larnaca center on Sundays.
Restaurants
There are quite a few restaurants and eateries serving both traditional as well as global cuisines. Open air, beachfront eateries offer fast foods and kebabs at very reasonable prices. Traditional “meze” houses are hard to find, but there are some tavernas in and around the Larnaca-to-Dhekelia road area. Some of the better known restaurants are Hobo’s, Melitzi’s, Pytharka Tavern and Vlachos Tavern
Nightlife
Nightlife in Larnaca is lively with youngsters hopping onto the different nightclubs and bars in the city. Many bars, pubs and tavernas offer live music. There are few discotheques and clubs playing music till late into the night. Every summer, Larnaca hosts a festival of music and performing arts. Outdoor concerts take place in the courtyard of the medieval fort and also at the Pattichion Amphitheatre.
