Our opinion:
Friendly, family-run hotel, where a personalised service is given to each guest. (including free tea and coffee served in the lounge throughout the day) The hotel is welcoming and a lot of thought has been put into the modern style decoration. The bedrooms are simple and compact but nevertheless comfortable and clean. Well situated in the centre, in an upcoming area, walking distance to all the major sites.

Our opinion:
Traditional hotel, good value for money, run by the Vanbelle family since the 40's. The public areas are cosy with a lot of atmosphere, and include a lounge with open fire and antique furniture. The hotel also boasts a restaurant (closed on Sundays) and a bar. The bedrooms are simply furnished. Because of its location, just on the edge of the city centre, the hotel offers a free shuttle bus service which operates to/from the Gare du Midi terminal ( please call the hotel on arrival for a pick-up) and evenings only to the Grand Place. Please note that the good price of the hotel also reflects the location.

Our opinion:
Small, intimate, family run hotel situated in a quiet street in the Louise quarter, surrounded by great little restaurants and shops. The hotel is composed of two buildings, a few blocks away from each other but both with their own breakfast room. The bedrooms in both buildings have been decorated with taste, in warm colours. For a 3 star hotel, it offers a very good level of accommodation with great facilities including a bar, mini gym and sauna.

Our opinion:
Well located just off the Place Rogier and about 10-15 minutes walk to the Grand Place and all of central Brussels. Public areas and breakfast room traditional with character. All rooms and bathrooms have been entirely renovated and decorated in a beige and blue colour scheme, many quiet and interior-facing. Note that the bar is closed at the weekend.

Our opinion:
Small, intimate 12 bedroomed hotel situated in a superb location only 2 steps away from the Grand Place, in the heart of Brussels. The small reception and breakfast area are decorated traditionally with wood and original features. As this is an old building, all the rooms have different shapes and sizes which makes this hotel different and original. The bedrooms are unusually spacious for such a small hotel and have been decorated with care (some rooms have shower only). Good base to discover the city.

Our opinion:
Good value for money, this hotel is simple but nevertheless welcoming and comfortable. In 2003 all of the bedrooms were modernised and entirely redecorated; they offer good facilities with pleasant furnishing. The hotel is located behind the Gare du Nord and near the Botanical Gardens, in an area under re-development, and the heart of Brussels can be reached by underground or by foot.

Our opinion:
Modern hotel offering spacious bedrooms, well equipped and comfortable. Recently taken over by the by the Spanish chain NH the hotel is undergoing some refurbishment (will be completed Autumn 2004. The lobby has been re-decorated in natural colours typical of NH and most of the rooms are also refurbished with with wooden floors and furnishings in natural browns and beiges. The hotel boasts an international brasserie-bar offering Belgian specialities and beers. Excellent location, a few steps from the Grand Place. Officially rated 4 star.

Our opinion:
Very conveniently situated next to Gare du Midi, the Eurostar Terminal and only 15 minutes walk to the Grand Place and the heart of Brussels. Good hotel with a bar and conservatory with a little garden where breakfast can be taken. The rooms are decorated in two different shades of colours, yellow/burgundy, or yellow/blue, all comfortable with modern furniture.The hotel also boasts a very original restaurant, l'Ecluse, only open for lunch.

Our opinion:
Modern and comfortable hotel with a light and bright reception, which makes you feel immediately welcome. The hotel offers good facilities including a modern breakfast room serving a generous buffet, a cosy bar and restaurant and a small gym. All the bedrooms were renovated in 2003 and offer a very high standard of accommodation. They are tastefully and traditionally decorated with new furniture, are spacious and well equipped. Situated in the heart of the European quarters, this is a good base to explore all the sites of Brussels, with the Grand Place being only 4 metro stops away. The restaurant is closed in August.

Our opinion:
Small and intimate hotel opened in September 2000 and situated in the Louise District. The reception area is small but tastefully decorated and because this hotel is housed in an old building, the rooms are of all shapes and sizes with traditional decor. Very comfortable none-the-less. Officially rated 4 star.

Our opinion:
Large modern hotel in the fashionable Louise district. The hotel has been recently taken over by the group NH and the lobby and reception room have been redecorated in earthy colours. Half of the bedrooms have been refurbished also in natural earth tones and wooden floor, whilst rooms in the old style are welcoming, sometimes compact, with shower only but comfortable and well equipped (all rooms due to be completed early 2005).

Located in the fashionable Louise district, which is renowned for its boutiques and restaurants. Elegant and spacious hotel that has been completely renovated, decorated in a contemporary style. Officially rated 4 star.

Our opinion:
Although a Hilton, this hotel will surprise you by its modern design and dynamic image. The hotel was entirely renovated in 2001 in a minimalist style, a new concept away from conservatism. The end result is nice spacious bedrooms, all with parquet flooring, warm colours and stylish decoration, a welcoming lobby, a bright restaurant-brasserie and a modern fitness room including a sauna and steam bath. Near Gare du Nord with all the major historic sites situated within walking distance.

Our opinion:
A lovely, traditional hotel with high ceilinged 19th century lobby, a landmark and part of the history of the town. Gourmet restaurant (closed Saturday and Sunday), bar, pavement cafe with much character and atmosphere. Superb location, five minutes walk from the Grand Place. Comfortable rooms, some traditional in style and some in art-deco. Health centre. Officially rated 5 star, we feel that 4 star superior is more appropriate although the service is very professional and personalised. Highly recommended hotel.

Our opinion:
This imposing building from the outside is situated in the heart of the airport's business district, exactly 4 km from the airport (a free shuttle bus is provided every 30 mins.). The reception is light, spacious and minimalist. The bedrooms are very welcoming, modern, all decorated with earthy colours and quality material. Very original bathroom designs. Great overall facilities including a restaurant (closed over the weekend), snooker room and health centre.
