Kings (Paphos)
Our opinion: This hotel is a traditionally run establishment where true hospitality meets with good service. Your host Naya and her staff always work hard to ensure your stay is a pleasurable one. Situated in the Kato Paphos district on the main Tomb of the Kings road, it ensures that guests are ideally located to access all parts of this buzzing resort easily. Surrounding the hotel are a number of restaurants offering everything from traditional Cypriot to Chinese and Indian, along with bars and close access to the colourful harbour area. The Kings Hotel offers a good number of amenities to guests, and in many ways facilities within the hotel exceed its modest 2 star rating. The unusual pool area offers a dramatic feature to the hotel's overall charm, it's based on the ruins of the Tomb of the Kings, and surrounding the pool are a number of pillars giving that authentic look managing to recapture the days of yesteryear. Many people choose to return to the hotel year after year as they have quickly come to realize that service and helpfulness complemented by value for money go a long way to make a good holiday great!

Leros (Agia Napa)
Our opinion: If you are looking to be in the centre of the action close to sea and nightlife, then the Hotel Leros offers you the best of both worlds. Situated in the very heart of this pulsating resort in the centre of the village, this simple little family run hotel offers a wealth of charm complimented by a very good and friendly service from Yiannis and his family. With only 26 rooms and immaculately kept, the overall feel is very personal but people favour this hotel for the atmosphere that is generated here. The large plasma screen TV in the lobby lounge is a great place to sit and enjoy a good match over a drink or two! Whilst to the side of the hotel lies the garden area with pool and sun terrace with loungers (summer only). Guests can also relax in the bar area that extends into the breakfast quarter where guests can enjoy a simple yet satisfying breakfast. Rooms are simple yet in many ways very well appointed far exceeding its official rating of 1 star. A short stroll from the hotel brings you to a wealth of bars, restaurants and shops not forgetting the all important beach packed with fun and adventure during the summer, turning to mild and mellow during the winter months. Surprisingly the resort offers a complete face change during the winter months with a relaxed and laid back feel (some facilities many not be operational) and offers an intriguing alternative to a getaway summer sun winter break! In essence if you're looking for value, this is your hotel.

Sylva (Limassol)
Our opinion: Sylva Hotel is a great find; a simple yet charming family run 2 star establishment close to the centre of Limassol. Unintentionally retro style from the moment you walk through its doors, the large reception and lobby area offer a restaurant and bar area for your enjoyment with small lounge and patio area. Many of the hotel's 100 rooms have also been re-designed and now offer a number of individually designed rooms with different themes including Japanese, Amazonian, African, Hunters and Chinese along with some contemporary ones. There is even a Greek design in blue and white with the traditional Greek Key print and a floral suite in dusty pink with drapes to create a romantic feel for those on a romantic break or celebrating a honeymoon. Non-renovated rooms also vary in size though are clean and bright and offer views of the surrounding areas or the poolside. Public areas are simple and in places basic but representing good value for money. The Sylva is good, basic value for money hotel.

King Richard (Limassol)
Our opinion: The charming family run King Richard Hotel sits between the blue flag awarded beach of Limassol on one side and with partial views to the spectacular Troodos Mountains on the other. Charming and modest, this 3 star family owned hotel has established itself as a real favourite amongst British holiday makers for the friendliness and service of the staff. With a private pathway leading from the pool/garden area to the beach, guests can enjoy long walks along the promenade absorbing the fresh Mediterranean sea air. The walk ultimately brings you to the buzzy tourist centre of Limassol with an array of facilities and entertainment to meet everyone's expectations of what the perfect holiday should be. The spacious lounge area creates a friendly atmosphere where guests can sit and relax. A TV area with games room and new trendy little coffee shop currently being designed (due for completion in December 2004) make this hotel a good little all rounder. Special functions can also be undertaken here as the hotel can also organise weddings.

Queen Bay (Paphos)
Our opinion: Situated on its own large expanse of cliff face, the stunning Queens Bay sits on the rugged coast of the Coral Bay area. It is just 8km (4.9 miles) north west of Paphos and boasts its own natural lagoon which has come to form part of the hotel's main features and is perfect for those looking to do a spot of light snorkelling and shallow bathing in the crystal clear waters. Boasting a peaceful setting, set back from the main Coral Bay road leading to Paphos, there is a great sense of space and openness about this hotel and it affords great views from its terraces and sun terrace where you can simply sit, relax and perhaps even laze over a cocktail (or two) whilst admiring some of those spectacular sunsets before the stroll into Coral bay village for dinner. The hotel has become popular within the British market and people favour this hotel due to its excellent value for money. The relaxing lounge offers a pleasant environment which stretches out onto a veranda. Decor and lighting here are subdued to set the tone for a laid back theme. Facilities are plentiful and offer a range of activities to suit all tastes from its floodlit tennis courts for the more energetic to short mat bowls for a pleasant alternative.

Pioneer Beach (Inland View)(Paphos)
Our opinion: A great 4 star "Adults Only" property ideally situated on the idyllic shores of the Mediterranean, just a short stroll from the picturesque Paphos harbour and a short drive from Paphos International Airport, this luxurious hotel boasts its own sandy beach and resplendent gardens, and what better relaxation could you possibly need than a child free hotel where the emphasis is on complete relaxation. The landscaped gardens interspersed with palm trees offers a haven for sun worshippers who are looking to hide themselves amidst the verdant splendour of the surroundings whilst the lawn gives way to direct access to the hotel's own beach. The spacious sun terrace around the Kidney shaped pool poolside often plays host to a number of evening dinner dances and entertainment evenings (during the summer). Many of the rooms have partial views to the sea or overlook the pool, or a small supplement will ensure a sea facing room. The large pool with its adjoining bar is a very popular focal point during the day, and is a great setting for a romantic aperitif by moonlight before the pleasant stroll to the many shops, restaurants and bars, the closest of which some 850m from the hotel. An extensive animation programme including live music is arranged several nights per week with various theme nights, BBQ's and cocktails to really set the scene.
