Our opinion:
Simple, unsophisticated accommodation of a good standard. Rooms are clean and comfortable and in traditional style. Hotel has a bright restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Superb central location just a few paces from the Puerta del Sol.

Our opinion:
Small hotel with a traditional style throughout. There is a welcoming foyer with stairs leading up to a lounge area. The attractive breakfast room on the top floor has a rustic feel with exposed beams. Bedrooms are basic and old fashioned, and some rooms that look onto an interior courtyard have limited natural light. (Some floors do not have complete lift access). A good budget option, located in the city centre, close to shops and attractions.

Our opinion:
Traditional hotel with lots of character and Spanish ambience, situated right in the heart of Madrid, on the Puerta del Sol, and within walking distance of many historical sights and plenty of shops. There is a pretty interior patio area with plants and seating, and a pleasant breakfast room with adjoining lounge. Bedrooms are simple and functional whilst clean and well maintained.

Great little hotel in an unbeatable central location, just off the Gran Via, Madrid's main shopping street. This modern hotel is well maintained and rooms are clean and comfortable. There is a bright reception and pleasant lounge downstairs next to the small breakfast room.

Our opinion:
Large, comfortable hotel situated near the North station, within walking distance of most parts of the city centre and old town. There are extensive public areas that include a cafe bar and restaurant. Bedrooms are functional and classic in style. (Official rating 4 Star).

Our opinion:
A very pleasant and friendly hotel with well equipped rooms. There is an adjoining restaurant and coffee shop and a bar and lounge area on the first floor. Located just a short 15 minute walk to the Plaza Mayor, historic centre and major attractions and entertainment areas. Awarded Madrid's environmental prize, the hotel offers quality service without damaging the environment.

Our opinion:
Renovated to a high standard, the Regina has bright and comfortable bedrooms. There is a traditional lounge area on the first floor and a modern cafe/bar in the lobby. A cellar style bar downstairs adds a nice original touch. Central location very close to Puerta del Sol, which makes this hotel an ideal base for exploring Madrid.

Our opinion:
Well decorated hotel of a good standard. Comfortable furnishings are combined with modern facilities. There is a piano bar, a plush TV lounge and staff are very friendly. Must try out the 'Cena Cantada' in their popular restaurant - romantic ambience, high standard of cuisine, and waiters that break out into operatic singing. Quite a unique experience! Location is right in the historic centre of Madrid next to the Opera House.

Our opinion:
In a great central location just a few metres from the Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. Some features of the original building, dating back to the 18th century, have been preserved, such as the facade, main staircase and vaulted roof of the restaurant. These classical elements blend nicely with the surrounding modern design. Contemporary bedrooms are well equipped with parquet style floors and marble bathrooms.

Modern hotel with excellent facilities and designer touches throughout. The bedrooms have parquet-style floors and a contemporary feel. There is a cafe bar adjoining reception and a small fitness room with sauna and jacuzzi. Great location on the Gran Via not far from the Puerta del Sol and the Plaza de la Cibeles.

Within a lovely historic building dating back to the early 20th century, there is a contemporary feel throughout that blends well with features such as the old-fashioned style lift. High levels of service and attention to detail, such as a complimentary glass of cava on check-in. Rooms are comfortable with wood effect flooring and very good facilities. Superb central location on Gran Via, perfect for shopping and visiting the main attractions

Our opinion:
The Holiday Inn Madrid is located in the heart of the city's business and financial area, opposite the Convention centre and around 4km (2.5 miles) to the main tourist attractions. For sporting aficionados the hotel is just 200m (0.12 miles) to the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, home of Real Madrid. With a modern design, high levels of service and facilities that include an outdoor pool in summer, the hotel is an ideal choice for both business and leisure.

This hotel offers a good standard of comfort, professional service and facilities. Bedrooms are very spacious and decorated in a bright, modern style. Adjoining the Husa Princesa, guests have direct access to the public areas and health club facilities of this 5 star hotel. Situated in a main shopping area a short walk downhill to the old city centre.

Established hotel in the heart of Madrid, just off the Gran Via and close to Plaza de Espana. The Mayorazgo has traditional Spanish character with classic decoration and modern facilities. The marbled foyer and lobby lead through to an intimate bar area. Rooms are pleasant with all the necessary amenities. Excellent location for shopping, the historical centre and museums.

Our opinion:
Large, first rate hotel with an excellent range of facilities and services. Bedrooms are spacious and refurbished to a high standard, each room featuring a print displayed at the famous Prado. There is an ample lobby with boutiques, lounge area and guest services. In addition to the contemporary restaurant and 'Royal' piano bar, there is a modern tapas bar and summer garden terrace. The impressive health centre boasts an indoor pool, sauna, steam rooms and gym. Prime central city location.
