Our opinion:
Modern property located in the World Trade Centre Complex. The airport bus terminal is a short walk away and the entrance to Central Station adjoins the hotel. Brightly decorated compact rooms are well equipped and are nearly all twin bedded with the second bed folding down from the wall at waist height. Rooms with shower only.

Homely and comfortable, family run hotel located in a scenic, quiet part of the city centre, on a square with gardens in the middle. Lovely breakfast conservatory on the top floor with views and outside dining space for the summer months. Good central location.

Classic style hotel situated in the tranquil Vasastan area of Stockholm, a short walk from the restaurants and boutiques of St Eriksplan and Odenplan. With the nearby underground the centre of town can be reached in approx. 5 mins or for the more energetic it is about a 25 mins walk. Fashionable, contemporary restaurant and a British style pub which is popular with guests and locals alike. Guests have use of the hotel gym (charge payable locally).

Modern hotel located approximately 6km north of Stockholm in Solna Centrum, one of Scandinavia's largest shopping centres. The hotel is adjacent to the underground where a regular service to the centre of the city operates (journey time c.10 mins) and is within easy walking distance of the stop for the Arland Airport Shuttlebus. Bright, modern bedrooms are pleasantly decorated and well equipped. Large fashionable restaurant and bar serves a variety of modern European cuisine.

Stylish, contemporary hotel, located in a quiet street, yet just a few minutes walk from the restaurants and clubs of the more lively area of Stureplan. A number of Swedish designers were involved in the remodelling of the hotel and consequently the majority of rooms are individual in style. The colours used together with the furnishings, made from natural materials and designed by Swedish craftspeople, give the hotel a distinctly Nordic feel. The lobby is a focal point, serving as an exhibition space for local designers and artists. Chic but unpretentious with efficient, friendly staff who ensure guests are instantly at ease.

Large ultra modern, stylish hotel located in the fashionable Sodermalm district of Stockholm, a short walk from the city's old town, Gamla Stan. Contemporary bedrooms are predominantly white with some brighter contrasting furnishings and are decorated in a minimalist Scandinavian style. Displays of modern local art feature throughout the hotel. Trendy, atmospheric bars are popular with guests and locals alike.

Our opinion:
Established since 1874, this elegant, imposing hotel in the heart of the city, has become a true landmark. Dominating the waterfront, its location is unrivalled with views over the harbour, the Royal Palace and the old town. Care has been taken to ensure that many of the charming original features such as the antique lift have been retained. Bedrooms are uniquely furnished and although equipped with today's modern comforts, retain the majestic look of bygone years.
