Our opinion:
Small, cosy hotel in a superb location, between St Mark's Square and Rialto Bridge. Simple but adequate rooms decorated in true venetian style. Modern bathrooms provide that extra comfort, not expected in a hotel of its standard. Hotel boasts a quaint roof terrace with panoramic views. The hotel has no lift.

Great location in the heart of Venice, adjacent to a small canal. The accommodation is simple and rather dated, but comfortable non-the less providing an ideal no-frills base. Closed in winter. Hotel has no lift. Picture shows a triple room. Hotel has a TV Room. AC and Mini Bar available on request only.

Run by two sisters, this small and cute hotel overlooks the canal between the station and the Jewish Quarter. In a pleasant part of town away from the tourist throng, it is an easy walk to Rialto Bridge and other parts of town. Good standard all around, small but cosy and well maintained rooms. Air Conditioning available in all rooms at 10 Euros per room per night, payable direct to the hotel. If required please request on arrival at hotel, no need to prebook.

Small and personalised hotel with traditional Venetion decor and furnishings but new modern bathrooms for maximised comfort. Convenient location located along main pedestrianised thorough-fare between the station and Rialto. Hotel has no lift.

Tranquil location beside a canal and in the centre of Venice, convenient for those arriving from the airport due to its location just off Piazzale Roma. Grand Canal is a few paces away so all parts of Venice are easily reachable by vaporetto. This small and intimate hotel is tastefully decorated in 18th century Venetian style offering charming surroundings.

This is a well positioned hotel offering very accommodating 3 star rooms. Located 15 mins walk from the Lido's Vaporetto stop (or a short bus ride direct to the hotel) along the Lido Riviera, looking out to Venice across the lagoon. Summery feel and garden to relax.

7 room residence belonging to hotel Tintoretto and just 100m away from the mother property. Rooms are furbished in a similarly tasteful style combining modernised decor with traditional Venetian flair. Ca' Tintoretto does not have a reception so guests are given keys to come and go as they please. Check in and 24hr point of contact is always with hotel Tintoretto, where breakfast should also be taken. No lift.

This cosy, small hotel, situated alongside a canal, is a few mins walk from both Piazzale Roma and the railway station. Traditional and characteristic with wooden beamed public areas, offering comfortable surroundings. All rooms have now been renovated in an attractive Venetian style. Bathrooms are modern. A majority of the rooms have canal views which are available at no extra charge (on request). Staff very friendly. Short vaporetto ride to Rialto or 20 mins walk. Excellent value!

5 room residence on a quiet street in the centre of Venice, close to St. Marks Square. Venetian style decor with modernised comfort, intimate surroundings. Ground floor breakfast room but no other public facilities. Check-in is at the mother property Locanda Al Leon and guests will then be accompanied to the Dipendenza, a brief walk away. Guests have their own keys to come and go as they please. No reception at Dipendenza, so all client contact is direct with Locanda Al Leon.

Ideal for those arriving by car from the airport or as a budget alternative to staying in central Venice, this modern hotel is conveniently located in central Mestre, just minutes from the train station. From here it is a 10 minute bus ride to Piazzale Roma in Venice. The public areas and rooms are furnished in a simple, pleasant modern style, and rooms offer all necessary comforts.

Recently opened, this quaint and cosy 'inn' offers a good standard of accommodation. The rooms are tastefully furbished in a Venetian style reminiscent of the 1700s, and each room is named after a Venetian painter. Good location, just across the bridge that leads to the Accademia art gallery, and a short walk to St. Mark's Square.

Locanda Casa Querini is a fabulous 6-room family run inn situated in a peaceful square in central Venice, a stone's throw away from St. Mark's Square. Offering a very personalised service and renovated to a high standard throughout, this hotel is decorated in traditional 17th century Venetian style yet with modern bathrooms for added comfort. Rooms are fairly spacious for Venetian standards. Owners have recently added extra rooms by buying and renovating the adjoining property, rooms are decorated in the same Venetian style to a very high standard.

Delightful Venetian 'inn' offering 5 cosy rooms in typical Venetian decor. This is a small residence offering personalised ambience, and bedrooms are of a high standard. Great location by Campo S. Filippo Giacomo, a square tucked behind St. Mark's Square surrounded by restaurants and shops. Close by, is the Correr Museum after which the locanda has been named.

An ancient eighteenth century house now completely renovated with beautifully restored rooms decorated in antique Venetian style reminiscent of the 1700s. Quaint and with character, family-run, with an intimate ambience and personalised service. This hotel does not have a breakfast room, therefore, breakfast is served in the bedrooms.

Peaceful location alongside a canal in central Venice, this is handy for those arriving from the airport, being just off Piazzale Roma. Close to a vaporetto stop on the Grand Canal to access all parts of Venice. Rooms are delightful, in an antique Venetian style and well-maintained offering charming dwellings. Hotel also has a small garden, quite rare for Venice and there are many restaurants in the surrounding area.

An intimate, typically Venetian hotel, the Palazzo Guardi is in a great location and, being brand new, offers a high standard of accommodation. Rooms are elegant and traditional on two floors of a building tucked away near the Accademia bridge. The location is just 15 minutes walk to St Marks and close to Santa Margherita square, an area which has various restaurants and bars which come alive in the evening. A great addition to the Venice programme!

Small establishment in a quiet area of Venice, yet well sited as a tourist base being within easy reach of all attractions. Welcoming accommodation with antique style furnishings, murano glass lights, and much character. All bedroom flooring was replaced with parquet and the corridors have been given new carpets, hence good level of maintenance.

Beach front Lido hotel, family run, offering homely comfort and summery appeal. Rooms are fairly modern and classic in style with functional purpose. Buses pass in front of the hotel every 10 minutes for the short ride to the vaporetto stop for boats direct to St Marks Square. (Officially 2 star hotel)

The Tintoretto is very well maintained offering charming and comfortable dwellings, very much a family-run operation. Centrally located on the main pedestrianised street between the station and Rialto bridge, hence a good choice of shops & restaurants in the area. Quaint hotel with an old bell tower in the middle, splitting the hotel into two wings. The bell tower no longer functions so rest assured that guests should have a peaceful nights sleep.

This ancient Venetian residence has been a no-frills hotel for many years, but has now undergone a complete refurbishment and offers a higher standard of accommodation, although still in a simple style. Classic decor, and a great location near St Mark's Square. Also has a popular restaurant offering different types of cuisine. Official rating 4 star. Rooms of varying sizes.

Opened in 2001, this beautiful old palazzo, dating back to the 12th century and once home to one of the 120 'Dogi' that governed the Republic, has now been completely restored and is home to a small gem of a hotel. The rooms are elegantly fitted in a typical Venetian style. Great central, canal front location, overlooking Campo S. Apostoli - 5 mins walk from Rialto.

Rooms vary in style but are tastefully decorated, usually with Venetian flair. A warm welcome assured. The hotel has also just opened 2 fully refurbished rooms with Jacuzzi, separate from the main building, in which guests may be accommodated. Contemporary decor with modernised Venetian touches such as Murano glass lighting. Reception is on the 4th floor, along with the characteristic breakfast room with low wooden beamed ceiling.

This hotel is the perfect country retreat for those wanting to visit Venice, but stay away from the crowds of tourists that flock to this enchanting city. Also ideal for those exploring the area by car. Once a farmhouse dating to centuries past, this building has been converted throughout to a good 3 star hotel, offering that ideal country getaway. Surrounded by fields of open space, the hotel is situated within the 'parkland' of the nearby river Sile. Guests are assured a relaxing stay. Please note that the town is 20 Km away from Venice.

Guests check in and take breakfast at hotel Santa Marina across the square, but are given their own keys to come and go as they please. Dipendenza has no lift.

Recently taken over by new management and fully renovated, this residence offers intimate and elegant rooms in Venetian style. Owned by and adjacent to the 4 star Colombina hotel, it is just 150m from St. Mark's Square, hence an ideal central location. Although the residence has its own breakfast room, check-in is at the hotel Colombina which remains the main point of contact for guests. Hotel has 1 floor, but has no lift.

Charmingly decorated in keeping with the style of this former Venetian Palazzo. Modern touches ensure maximum comfort.
